Welcome to the
Sangre Shooting Sports Club
The Sangre Shooting Sports Club, an IRS 501(c)(7) exempt organization, was founded in 1988 to encourage organized rifle, pistol, shotgun, and firearm safety among citizens of the United States and active members of the NRA, with a view toward better care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. The Club offers covered outdoor rifle and pistol ranges from 25 to 200 yards. Informal trap-shooting is also available.
Announcements
Concealed Carry class at the SSSC Club house October 5th 8:00AM
Custer County Sheriff Sergeant Steve Konegni will be teaching the class. He’ll be using the new state mandated standards regarding an 8 hour course length, written tests, and firearms test.
First-Time Gun Buyers Class
The Sangre Shooting Sports Club (SSSC) is sponsoring a class to assist first-time gun buyers to select the correct handgun for themselves. This educational and enjoyable lecture is informative and useful. It is a hands-on class. It can provide the needed confidence about making the right choice for a first gun. New gun owners can also benefit from this class as it may help to reinforce the buyer’s original decision as well as provide additional insight. The class and the instructor are personally endorsed by Custer County Sheriff Rich Smith. Before we can set a date, time, place, and cost, it is important that the number of committed participants sign up. Sign-ups can be done online at sssc8@live.com, Attn: Tom Sullivan or Peggi Collins.
Range Open to the Public
On the third Saturday of each month the range is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. without appointment and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with appointment. There is no charge. If no orientation class is scheduled, the range may not be open without an appointment. Two children may shoot with each adult. Picnic tables are available outside the shooting area for anyone wishing to be an observer. Please bring one form of ID. Participants will sign a liability form and be given a brief orientation prior to shooting.
Range Sight-in Days
On sight-in days, the range is open to members and nonmembers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the day prior to the start of each season. A spotting scope will be available for use during this time. Nonmembers must contact us for an appointment at SSSC8@live.com.
